Install Firefox 4.0 in Ubuntu

We can easily upgrade/install Firefox 4.0 by following the steps below.

  1. Open Terminal and type the followings:
    1. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:mozillateam/firefox-stable
    2. sudo apt-get update
    3. sudo apt-get upgrade
    4. sudo apt-get install firefox ubufox  firefox-gnome-support
This version is definitely faster and better than 3.6 but if you don't like how it looks here is the link to customize it.

    [Solved] invalid partition table on /dev/sda -- wrong signature 0.

    I was trying to use Disk Utility program to edit some partition in my system. But I got a strange error message "invalid partition table on /dev/sda -- wrong signature 0." and couldn't proceed. So I tried with gparted(Gnome Partition Editor). The result wasn't any different. Today while clean installing Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric Ocelot, the installer said that there was no partition in my disk. While trying live CD, I could find all the partition and read data. If you also encounter any of the above problem, simple run fdisk by sudo fdisk /dev/sda press p and then press w . You'll see a message "The partition table has been altered!". Now try running the partition editor or the installer again.

    Offline Install or Update Ubuntu Packages (Without Internet)

    So you have a machine without Internet or the Internet is very slow and you want to update or install Ubuntu and packages. There is a simple way to install packages and softwares in machine that doesn't have Internet with it. First go to the machine that doesn't have Internet, i.e. the machine you want to install packages. Open Synaptic Package Manager from System - Administration Menu. Select the packages you want to install. Go to File and select Generate Package Download Script Save the file and bring it to the computer that has Internet. Run that file. It will download all the packages and its dependencies. Put them in a removable drive. Bring the drive back to the old machine. Open Synaptic Package Manger again.
